Safe Manual Handling
of People (Level 2)

For all healthcare staff working with independent care providers, NHS, GP Surgery’s. Practical aspectsof manual handling can be provided on site if equipment available – safe use of hoists, slide sheets.

For healthcare staff, community carers, clinical support workers, healthcare assistants working for independent care providers or NHS, and supporting adults and children inthe community/hospital.

Venepuncture & Cannulation - 1 Day

Full day covering both subjects

3.5 hours for half day 7 hours for full day and includes theory and practical workshop, and simulated practice

During the workshop learners will undergo supervised instruction and practice using training manikins.  On successful completion learners who are new to venepuncture/cannulation are required to gain competency under clinical supervison  within their setting, competency frameworks will be provided.

  • Professional and legal issues regarding venepuncture and cannulation
  • Venous anatomy and suitable vein selection used for venepuncture and cannulation
  • Understand and demonstrate vein selection
  • Equipment for venepuncture & cannulation – butterflies, vacuumed containers etc
  • Demonstrate safe competent procedure
  • Minimising risk
  • Complications with venepuncture/cannulation

Venepuncture OR Cannulation - Half day

Half day covering either venepuncture or cannulation (we also run a full day course which covers both subjects)

3.5 hours for half day and includes theory and practical workshop, and simulated practice

First Aid

Immediate Management of Anaphylaxis - Level 3

This course is designed for anyone, but more importantly those who may find themselves in a high risk environment or where it has been identified that there are colleagues at work who have Anaphylaxis.

Paediatric Emergency First Aid FAA Level 3 One day 

A Level 3 First Aid course designed for those who have an interest in child  and baby Basic Life Support governed by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or OFSTED.  This course covers life-threatening conditions including CPR, bleeding control and choking.

Basic Life Support (non regulated)

This is a basic First Aid course that covers how to deal with an unconscious casualty along with CPR.This course is for everyone, irrespective of age, who wouldlike to learn some basic life support techniques.Although it is not an approved qualification, all attendees will receive a certificate of attendance. ‚Äč

Basic Life Support (and the safe use of an automated external defibrillator) Level 2

The FAA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support provides learners with the knowledge of CPR, safe use of AED, primary survey, recovery position and choking.  This course is suitable for all persons and  provides vital life-saving actions to take  in  an emergency.  Your risk assessment will identify your business needs.

Emergency First Aid at Work - level 2

This nationally recognised course satisfies the HSE requirements.  Your risk assessment will identify your business needs.

 

Level 3 - Two Day First Aid at Work (Re-Qualification)

This nationally recognised course satisfies the HSE requirements.Your risk assessment will identify your business needs. This is the highest level of first Aid training, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.


Oxygen Therapy Administration - Level 3

This course enables users to administer oxygen safely for casualties with breathing difficulties.  This qualification is ideal for: nurses, first aiders, emergency first aiders, carers and dental care practitioners.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation & Automated External Defibrillator

This nationally recognised course  covers both cardio pulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillation, giving you a course that can supplement you current provision.  Your risk assessment will identify your business needs.

First Aid at Work - Level 3

This nationally recognised course satisfies the HSE requirements.  Your risk assessment will identify your business needs. This is the highest level of first Aid training, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.


Student First Aid for Secondary Schools FAA Level 2 Award

This course enables students of 11 years + to assess, and deal with disorders of resperation, resuscitation and AED.

Maximum of 12 students per session.
