First Aid training at Artes

First Aid is an essential skill that everyone should have whether you have a responsibility in the workplace at home or at play or school.

These courses will give you the knowledge and skills to deal with many incidents that you could be faced with and the skills to save someone’s life.  We offer a wide range of First Aid courses for people from all industries, offices/site-based workers including some specialist courses including the administration of oxygen therapy which is for staff to be trained in the administration of oxygen safely and effectively.  

We also offer First Aid courses specifically for schools including Paediatric First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Student First Aid which is an essential skill and knowledge-based programme for children aged 11 and up.  This programme has been specifically designed to coincide with health education lessons taught in secondary schools following the government’s announcement to make health education compulsory from September 2020.    

Artes Training use Registered approved Nuco First Aid Instructors working in association with Nuco and FAA.  Please explore this page to see our training provision.  We teach on a wide range of accredited Ofqual regulated First Aid subjects including First Aid at Work, Defibrillation, Anaphylaxis and Oxygen Therapy which is compliant with the October 2015 Resuscitation Guidelines.

  • Basic Life Support – Non regulated – 3 hours
  • Level 2 Award in BLS and Safe use of an AED – 3 hours
  • Level 3 Award in Oxygen Therapy Administration – 6 hours
  • Level 2 Student First Aid – 3 hours
  • Level 3 Award in Immediate Management of Anaphylaxis – 6 hours
  • Annual Refreshers.



Who is this training for?

We offer a wide range of courses with the majority suitable of all types of students, office and site-based workers and a number of specialist courses (for instance Oxygen therapy Administration which is suitable not only for nurses, first aider and carers but also dental practitioners. We offer two courses designed specifically for schools aimed at 11 years + and 16 years old +.



Immediate Management of Anaphylaxis - Level 3

This course is designed for anyone, but more importantly those who may find themselves in a high risk environment or where it has been identified that there are colleagues at work who have Anaphylaxis.

Paediatric Emergency First Aid FAA Level 3 One day 

A Level 3 First Aid course designed for those who have an interest in child  and baby Basic Life Support governed by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or OFSTED.  This course covers life-threatening conditions including CPR, bleeding control and choking.

Basic Life Support (non regulated)

This is a basic First Aid course that covers how to deal with an unconscious casualty along with CPR.This course is for everyone, irrespective of age, who wouldlike to learn some basic life support techniques.Although it is not an approved qualification, all attendees will receive a certificate of attendance. ‚Äč

Basic Life Support (and the safe use of an automated external defibrillator) Level 2

The FAA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support provides learners with the knowledge of CPR, safe use of AED, primary survey, recovery position and choking.  This course is suitable for all persons and  provides vital life-saving actions to take  in  an emergency.  Your risk assessment will identify your business needs.

Emergency First Aid at Work - level 2

This nationally recognised course satisfies the HSE requirements.  Your risk assessment will identify your business needs.


Level 3 - Two Day First Aid at Work (Re-Qualification)

This nationally recognised course satisfies the HSE requirements.Your risk assessment will identify your business needs. This is the highest level of first Aid training, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Oxygen Therapy Administration - Level 3

This course enables users to administer oxygen safely for casualties with breathing difficulties.  This qualification is ideal for: nurses, first aiders, emergency first aiders, carers and dental care practitioners.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation & Automated External Defibrillator

This nationally recognised course  covers both cardio pulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillation, giving you a course that can supplement you current provision.  Your risk assessment will identify your business needs.

First Aid at Work - Level 3

This nationally recognised course satisfies the HSE requirements.  Your risk assessment will identify your business needs. This is the highest level of first Aid training, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Student First Aid for Secondary Schools FAA Level 2 Award

This course enables students of 11 years + to assess, and deal with disorders of resperation, resuscitation and AED.

Maximum of 12 students per session.
