First Aid at Work
Level 3

This nationally recognised course satisfies the HSE requirements.  Your risk assessment will identify your business needs. This is the highest level of first Aid Training, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

COURSE OVERVIEW

  • Understand the role of the first aider, including reference to
  • The importance of preventing cross infection
  • The need for recording incidents and actions
  • Use of available equipment
  • Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
  • Administer Cardio pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Administer First Aid to a casualty who:
  • Is unconscious (including seizures)
  • Is choking
  • Is wounded and bleeding
  • Is suffering from shock
  • Has injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injuries
  • Has chest injuries
  • Has burns and scalds
  • Has eye injuries
  • Has sudden poisoning
  • Has Anaphylaxis
  • Provide appropriate First Aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters)
  • Recognise the presence of major illness (including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma,diabetes and provide the appropriate first Aid)
  • Introduction to the use of an Automated External Defibrillator

Please contact us for further information regarding simulation provision. Simulated practice builds on the theory learnt and allows students to rehearse behaviours in the classroom in a safe environment.

This course is designed for anyone.

CERTIFICATION

Lasts for 3 years, Requalification is to attend a 2 day course (18 hours) 3 years later

COURSE DURATION

18 Hours(2 days). Can be run in 2 hour increments over maximum of 9 weeks. Can be run to suit business needs.

COURSE LOCATION

Courses are normally run on your site or we can arrange venues around the UK - please call to discuss your exact requirements.
 
 

Additional information

•    Pre Requisite
•    Minimum Age 14 (a candidate, however cannot assume responsibility in the workplace until the age of 16)
•    Must be able to get down onto the floor
•    Physically fit 
•    Happy to work in pairs to demonstrate a physical check of  the body (nothing invasive)

•    Numbers
•    Maximum of 12 candidates (for additional candidates another instructor would be required)
•    Minimum of 6 to be held at Company premises
